DRINKING WATER WARNING

BOIL YOUR WATER BEFORE USING

HIERVAN EL AGUA ANTES DE USARLA. ESTE INFORME CONTIENE INFORMACION MUY IMPORTANTE SOBRE SU AGUA DE BEBER.  TRAFUZCALO O HABLE CON ALGUIEN QUE LO ENTIENDA BIEN.

What should I do?

STARTING MONDAY, JULY 7, 2025, DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST UNTIL NOTIFIED.  Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water.  Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice.  Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

What happened?  What is being done?

Due to a contractor working in your area, the water will be shut down on Monday, July 7, 2025, between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.  The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection mandates that we inform you to boil your water or use bottled water for precautionary reasons.

The Water Company staff will be taking bacteriological samples to ensure the safety of the water.  You will be informed when it will no longer be necessary to boil your water or use bottled water.

For more information, please contact the Richland Borough Water Company at 717-866-5601 and ask for Rebecca Schnoke, Secretary.
